MECC 2000 was founded in 1982, serving as a benchmark for artisan ceramic manufacturers, already particularly large and well-known internationally.
In 1985 the company opened its headquarters in Castellarano and increased its structural metalwork activities for both the ceramics and construction sector, with early innovations thanks to the introduction of CNC machines first, and then between 1988 and 1990 integration with automatic and combined machines with punches and laser cutting in the subsequent move to the Villalunga di Casalgrande premises.

1993:
In 1993 a second site, dedicated to welding, was opened in Castellarano. This site saw the first processing performed with robots and robotic systems, which would continue for around fifteen years until its closure in 2009, with the welding departments transferred to their current premises.
Between late 1995 and 1996, MECC 2000 began the construction of its new premises and the move to what is still the company’s current headquarters, which at the time was composed of a production unit of around 5,000 m² before being expanded in the early 2000s.

It was precisely this large space which allowed the company to take a major step towards innovation between 2000 and 2003, increased by the purchase of automatic store towers connected to the laser systems.
The years between 2011 and 2017 were the stage for the growth of MECC 2000 as a company: thanks to the purchase of a branch of the company Lala and the opening of a second operating base in Scandiano, the company increased its quantity of business and was able to meet its customers’ needs better than ever. Indeed, the corporate structure, right from its founding by the Taccucci and Caprari families, has constantly contributed over the years to the development of company activities by diversifying production across different sectors.

2021:
The two-year period 2021 – 2022 brought major innovations to the company: a generational change in the management saw the entry of founder Ottavio Taccucci’s three children, Oscar, Gabriele and Luca Taccucci, accompanied by Liana Cigarini, with a background in corporate accounting, as managing director.
MECC 2000 is redrawing its strategic pyramid, inserting managerial processes throughout the organisation, giving impetus to a strong and cross-cutting digitalisation process. The first fruit of these measures can be seen in the constant growth in turnover recorded in 2021, with an increase from the 10 million Euros recorded in 2020 to the 23 million forecast for 2022.
Moreover, the value of our people continues to grow, bringing with them a tradition of expertise and experience which stretches out 40 years and currently involves 120 employees.
